About

Hello, I’m Sharon — and I’m so glad you’re here.

For over 20 years, I worked for a non-profit organization focused on mentoring college students at the University of Northern Iowa (where I graduated in 2002), Millersville University, and Penn State University. During that time, I walked alongside college women through many highs and lows, supporting them as they navigated life in ways that honored their values and built on their strengths.

When I became a mom in 2008, my focus began to shift toward my own growing family. With two toddlers and a newborn underfoot, the daily challenges of parenting confronted me each morning. In 2014, my husband and I were blessed to find a mentor and parenting coach who changed the trajectory of our family—from one centered on discipline and obedience to one rooted in connection and love. That experience, coupled with my longstanding passion for helping others, inspired me to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling so I could support children and families in the same meaningful way my own family was supported.

I’m an Iowa girl born and raised, and while I’ll always feel drawn to wide-open spaces and rows of cornfields, Happy Valley has become home. I have a deep desire to see this community—and the families and children within it—grow and thrive.

I graduated from Colorado Christian University in 2024 with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and currently work as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC). My work is rooted in Child-Centered Play Therapy, as I believe children grow, heal, and express themselves most naturally through play.

Above all, my goal is to offer a space of grace, safety, and acceptance for both children and caregivers. I believe that as children heal through play, we all heal and grow through healthy connection. To that end, I value collaboration and believe the best support comes from working together—partnering with caregivers, teachers, and other professionals who are part of your child’s care team.
